Jessy Moreland’s heart resides in the mountains year-round through different sports or simply by hiking. Since it’s unrealistic or just not comfortable in Alaska to be outside all the time, downtime is spent creating art. Specially in the dark season. Jessy switches between mediums of illustration, linoleum block printing, and painting. Each piece of art is created with a focus on personal expression and enjoying the process of creation from beginning to end.

Jessy is a Western Colorado University alumni and former resident of 18 years in the Gunnison Valley. She has been providing 38º North with annual linoleum block printings since the company’s inception through a steadfast  friendship with the owner, Lily Virden. Each print has a deep connection to the Lake City area and the different ways to enjoy the outdoors.
